So there you have it the lyric, and for the lesson we have the word “WO AI NI” (我爱你) from the lyric that means “I love you”. And that’s how you express the feeling “Love”.

Apparently, Japanese have unique way to express “I love you”. I believe that you all recognize the word “Aishiteru” (愛してる). Yes, it means “I love you” in Japanese. But if you notice it, in Japanese drama or anime they rarely use the word “Aishiteru”. Instead, they use the word “Suki” (好き).

So what’s the different here?

Japanese generally don’t express their love openly. They believe that love can be expressed by manners. When they put their feelings into words, it is preferred to use the phrase “suki desu （好きです）”. It literally means, “to like”. So long-short story, Japanese only use the word “Aishiteru” to the person that they have feeling for to marry him/her.
